Hi everyone!

I'm sorry I've been letting this page fall behind but Girl Scout Cookie season has inspired me to get some udpates done. I'll be making an effort to get caught up on any submissions you folks have sent in over the last few (well - many...) months and hopefully everything will be up-to-date by the time camp starts in June. It sounds like this is going to be an amazing summer. I wish I could be there!

Camp Favorite Traditions:
  • The "R" word (you know, the wet stuff that drips from the sky?) - if you say it, it happens, and nobody likes that...
  • "Johnny Appleseed" grace - same thing happens as above if you sing it.
  • The portraits in the staff house - if they get turned right side up there are big storms (i.e. Hurricane Bob)
  • The 86 steps
  • The LPI - a regatta of sorts for all the sailors in the two-week sessions
  • All-camp - that sometimes loved sometimes hated all-day event for the whole camp that happens every Sunday of the two-week sessions
  • Final Banquet/Awards Ceremony - Lasagna dinner the last night of every session, sitting with your whole unit and singing every song you can think of after dinner... then the Awards Ceremony where you sing your end of session songs, get your Polar Bear & Running Bear certificates and the highest sailing ratings are given out.
  • Final Campfire - A campfire on Back Beach for the whole camp on the last night of every session...one of the best memories of life at camp.
